Cleanroom cranes compliant worldwide

Even if you have the most advanced cleanroom crane built, if it is not certified for your region or country, it is of no use to you. At Mennens Cleanroom Cranes, we are ahead of this, because whichever crane you choose, it will meet all standards worldwide.

A compliant cleanroom crane for every application

Production facilities are often responsible for ensuring that all used machines and equipment are approved for safe operation. This also applies to lifting equipment. Our cleanroom cranes are used in industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, biotech, food and battery industries where safety is very important. But we do not place that responsibility on you; we take it upon ourselves. We want to prevent your high-tech production facility from being shut down due to doubts about the safety of our crane.

What experience has taught us

That is why every crane from Mennens Cleanroom Cranes is developed and built with global compliance as a starting point. Over the years, we have delivered cleanroom cranes in so many different countries and on so many different continents that we now know all international requirements. This not only results in a more efficient engineering process for us, but our customers also benefit from it. For example, a customer once indicated at the last minute that the crane they ordered would be used in Japan instead of their production facility in the US. No problem. The crane also met the JISHA OSHMS standard.

Another example: In South Korea, with a major player in electronics and semiconductor production, strict requirements are imposed on all imported equipment. Without KOSHA certification, no equipment enters the country. They do not have to worry about their lifting equipment because every cleanroom crane from Mennens Cleanroom Cranes complies. This also applies to other countries and even for unique cranes that we build to customer specifications. These could also be used at another location in another country in the future. No problem. Every system meets all relevant international standards, including but not limited to:

  • CE (European Union)
  • UL (North America)
  • OSHA (United States)
  • KOSHA (South Korea)
  • JISHA OSHMS (Japan)

The benefits of worldwide compliance

This proactive approach to international certification offers you as a user three key benefits:

1. You can standardize your cleanrooms, allowing them to be designed and set up faster and more efficiently.
2. You eliminate risks in your international expansion because your crane systems are always compliant.
3. You save time and costs because there are no expensive modifications required or delayed certification processes. From day one, your system meets all relevant standards.

With Mennens Cleanroom Cranes, you choose certainty. Our systems are not only technically superior and cleanroom-compatible but also deployable worldwide.

Stopping systems in cleanroom cranes

A cleanroom crane does not operate in unlimited space. Its movement is confined to a clearly defined lifting range determined by the runway structure and the mechanical design of the system. That range defines where loads may be transported and positioned.

Protecting those boundaries is essential. For that reason, cleanroom cranes are equipped with dedicated stopping systems at the ends of the runway.

Lifting systems within the V-Model of cleanroom validation

The V-Model of validation structures the relationship between design and qualification in cleanroom projects. What is often overlooked is that lifting systems already influence this structure at an early stage. Decisions made during functional design determine how smoothly installation, operational and performance qualification will proceed.

The technical foundations of cleanroom lifting solutions

Specifying a cleanroom crane does not start with lifting capacity, but with insight and technical understanding. Which ISO classification applies? What contamination risks are present? Which material and cleaning requirements must be considered?

Without this foundation, unnecessary risks arise in design, delays in validation and process instability.

That is why we have developed a series of technical whitepapers to support engineers and cleanroom managers in specifying lifting solutions in cleanrooms and controlled production environments.

What is the lifting range of a cleanroom crane?

Lifting a load is the base of any lifting solution in a cleanroom. To define the right lifting solution, several aspects need to be considered. Two key concepts play a role; the lifting area and the lifting range. How these are defined and applied depends on the type of crane used.
